Castwell Improv

Improv isn’t just about being funny on the spot — it’s about trust, collaboration, and creative courage. Within a performing arts community, improv builds stronger ensembles, sparks innovation, and teaches artists to listen, adapt, and say yes to new ideas. It's also a riot.

Every other Sunday from 7-9pm

A Burnt Thicket Theatre production

My Little Plastic Jesus

created and performed by Tim Bratton

On Nov 5 Castwell & Co. hosted the first ever dramatic production in our cozy Castwell Clubhouse! Burnt Thicket Theatre and Tim Bratton brought us the production - “My Little Plastic Jesus”. This is Tim’s autobiographical one-man show about his experiences in evangelical pop culture, with all the positives and negatives that it brings. The show was funny, moving, and full of nostalgia for some audience members. We had a great talk back session following the performance.

Burnt Thicket Theatre recently presented "Every Brilliant Thing" as part of the Biggar & District Arts Council season in 2024-2025.

CASTAWAYS JR.

Castaways Jr. continues this year. Open to all folks ages 10-18. One-shots and now exciting campaigns!

Every played a table-top role playing game? Never played a table-top role playing game? Excellent, all are welcome to join in the fun. Experiment with collaborative storytelling and creative problem solving led by experienced game masters in a friendly environment. No special equipment is needed and the program is free to play. In addition to the drop-in, one-shot style D&D events our young players know and love, we will also be making some committed, campaign-style groups available for players to join this season. For more information, contact us at castwellco@gmail.com.

The Castaways Jr. program is made possible in partnership with the Biggar Library and through funding provided by Sask lotteries community grants.

CASTAWAYS

Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a curious newcomer, "The Castaways" is the perfect place to unleash your imagination and explore new worlds. Each session will feature collaborative storytelling, character creation workshops, and epic quests that challenge both mind and creativity. We'll provide all the necessary materials, so just bring your enthusiasm and readiness for adventure.

We have tabletop role-playing game nights once a month. There are two groups of adventurers currently delving dungeons, fighting Kobolds, and eating giant loaves of bread. If you are over 18 and interested in joining our cast of characters please shoot us an email and we will get in touch with you soon.
