Call for Submissions

What's up next for Castwell & Co?
Well, your project could be!

One of our core values is to foster a culture where everyone can have the opportunity to spread their creative wings. In that spirit, we would like to open the floor for project submissions for our upcoming season(s). Do you have a favourite play, musical or other performance art piece that you would love to see brought to the stage here in Biggar? Are you maybe feeling ready to take on a key role in seeing that show produced here on stage?

Now is the time to send us your submissions!

Castwell Wishlist

If you have a piece that you have been inspired, entertained, or challenged by, we would love to know about it! Sharing is caring - and often gets creative ideas sparking. Click the link to share a show title and brief synopsis to our Castwell Wishlist. Going forward, this Wishlist link will be open all the time to receive your suggestions. Add as many titles as you wish!

Submit a proposal for a show you love so much that you’d like to help lead it! Castwell is excited about creating space for new leaders to be raised up within our community. For your production idea to be eligible for consideration next season, we would like you to be willing to take on one of the following three roles: producer, director, or stage manager. We think you can do it – for real! And don’t worry - you won’t be on your own. If your proposal is selected, one of our experienced board members will be right with you in another key leadership role, ready to support and mentor you all the way. Castwell supports a collaborative team model for our leadership structures. We are stronger together.

For each show proposal submission you will be asked to provide:
-Show title & author(s) / composer(s)
-Show type (eg: play, musical, one-act, or other)
-Licensing provider (eg. Concord or MTI) - the show must currently be available to community theatre groups to perform
-Synopsis (you can cut and paste from the licensing site)
-Your thoughts on the show and why Castwell should consider it (your “elevator pitch”)
-Your preferred leadership role to take on for the show: producer, director, or stage manager (you can do it – be brave!)

We are excited about this trial run of our call for submissions system. The link will remain open for proposals to be submitted until Sunday, March 1st 2026 at 10:00 pm SK time.

Show Proposal

Your proposals and suggestions are important to us and will be thoughtfully considered. While not all ideas may be able to reach fruition through Castwell & Co, every person who submits a full proposal for consideration will be offered an opportunity for a follow-up conversation with someone from the Castwell planning team. Have questions? Please reach out!

Thank you for sharing your ideas and excitement with us. We love hearing from you!
